Flyaway
It’s the Chinese New Year and as usual, young and mega-hyper people like us will go bai-nien (visiting) to friends’ houses and chat with their parents, at the same time get the angpows (red packets), gamble a bit here and there, “so we can cheat our friends’ $ $”. According to my cheeky Tuanku Adrian, “Friend don’t cheat friend one, but can cheat friend’s money”. Basically, we cannot lie to our friends, but when we hoi-toi (open table? literally but it’s just another way of saying gamble on the table), we can wallop their money. *grinz!*
Something that I realized was how really really fast time flies… When thoughts were recollected to the moments we first started to go bai-nien on ourselves (without mummy daddy) was way back in 1999. I was 15! Now what? It’s been 6 years already? It just got me startled when I introduced friends and chimui-hengtais to Mom…

Rain’s in the States and Jay’s who’s going to Canada too sometime in August. And Caryn is cold in Aberdeen…
Get the picture? Way back in time, we were lil’ kids from the same school, or at least… from the same tuition or from schools from the same district. And a coupl’a days ago, I just realized so many of us are starting to depart by time and distance. I guess only effort and love for each other keep us together, not forgetting each other and preserving the great moments in much earlier days still vivid in our minds. Eh! Actually… thanks to technology=webcam, mic, Skype, Internet, blogging, etc., etc., staying in touch with friends in a distance is not so difficult anymore lah. schweeeet I love my friends and chimuis!!!
Waaaaah! Khar Yan went off to Sydney already!!! WAAAAAAAH! Oh man, I am so gonna miss her!

Sisterhood creates that certain bond no one can break… That’s my sister there, Liew Khar Yan… already in Sydney. *sob*
