Early today, the news had spread. Back home or afar, and all who’d had knew him, since early or even at most recent… This post is written in loving memory to our dearest…
Vincent Fong Wei Sheng.
As jonny had mentioned in another post, Vincent was our favourite person back in high school and to a few of us who remained in contact even after SMK Seafield, he is still our most fondly loved person, even till after his departure today. Vincent fought a courageous fight after being diagnosed with nose cancer. With all the chemotherapy and surgeries he’d went through, he never gave up and remained strong at will to survive. Vincent was a practical person and also a true inspiration to many of us. We all know who we are who’d had the helping hand and words of encouragement from him. Although I miss our old times (especially back in the early years of 1997-2000) together, I know deep down inside that he is in a better place now and doesn’t have to suffer anymore. On this very day, Vincent, you will be greatly loved and missed, and memories of you will never be forgotten till forever…
To all those who are away from home, who has been a good friend or a mere friend of a friend to him, let us all pray for him that he’d found a place where there’s comfort and love.
Rest in peace, bro!
“Nothing feels as warm as having the thought for the people you love and knowing that they feel the same way, even we’re miles apart.”
Chi muiz! That’s for you! Haha! For all that bimbotic+silly+crazy+eauphoric times and the shot with the headless cow!

After that I checked my mailbox and Hun’-D sent something attached to it… And what surprise did i get? a video clip made by none-other-but-him, jaw just dropped and the all I could have blurted out was…

It’s a clip of all the pictures taken during my nifty surprise party, specially thanks to Jay’s (the guy in front in green) brilliant setup! Of course, the night wouldn’t be so much more happening and special if it was not for this bunch of guys!

and as if i am some super star, i just wanna list these people that i luuurve(clockwise): Mr D, Master Vince, Allen, Jin-boy, Timmy, Lex, Ming, Toong, TJ, KC, Xian-Nian, Sew, Aik and Jay! Video was made by Mr D (in blue).
And even if not for this bimbo-tic purpose, just in case any gals out there’s interested, at least they know the name of you guys first before getting add-info from me… *tee hee*
When someone just surprises you after a long day, without any warning at all, and you’ll just go, “Oh my… You shouldn’t… This is crazy!” and the reply is, “No, I am the one who’s crazy, and crazy I am for you…” What could you respond with?
Jaw dropped. Followed by a great laughter. Ho ho, you know who you are and I appreciate the time you and your ears (or probably just your ears… hmmph) had spent to ever listen to me whining at the same time laughing like a bithcy witch. Oh, the above mentioned can be recycled to a good pick-up line the next time you use it again.
Ay-ay from the faraway land! I truly miss my homies! Read this: I MISS YOU PEEPZ! And I hate it that I could not celebrate Lectureboy Beh’s birthday and the end of Sem 5 with the rest of friends from m103! Nevertheless, I’m sure these dudes and dudettes must have had a massive blast of fun!
I promised a few of my homiez back home that I will update and will tell what’s a day in Glasgow… on a weekend seem like. Anyway, today was good day. With fine sunshine and a lil’ summer breeze. Not wet at all, thanks to the sky of Scots’.
Morning Glasgow! And some of you may guess who could have woke me up with this pic…
And when all thought it was a good summer day to run about, the sky can be demoralizing at times…

Ay-yay, we’re on our way! Honestly, walking is the main activity ever since i stepped foot on this land. To add challenge in lifestyle here, climbing is next after walking… There we are, on the way to the morning mart, The Barras. To Aussie peepz, this place is like Vic Mart, only difference is the place has more scattered stalls… and hotdogs though. This is where people of Scots get cheap bargains and fresh vege and fruits here. Can be considered a pseudo-ChiChiongKai (Chinatown, KL)
Hoho! And whatd’ya knooo… The Scottish kilts are on sales here…
Hah, and what’s around the corner of The Barras, is this place, the Amusement Centre… And those are whole heapz of pounds and pennies there… (Ow, imagine what’s it like for a person like me whining bout every pennies spent, while people there just slot their coins there). People here gamble and drink all day long. These sort of amusement centres and pubs ACTUALLY open from 9.30am-12midnite…
And as we browse through… these are the recycled toys. Wamba-freaking coooool! Impressive.
And people here are “mighty-friendly”, I might say. I mean… what happen was i wanted a self picture and this Mr nice fellow wanted to take a pic with me as well. Oh well… there, a typical Scotsman (you can notice the beer belly and it’s REALLY typical for men to have them here).
Street performance are very well regarded here. The people really do watch them and dance along, and then give them a big applause as the performers finish. What warmth. *schweet*

Aah, a great day indeed. On other more “ordinary” days, wearing shorts like this can be quite impossible to even stand straight.
And the day usually ends at around 5pm, when all shops are closed and the streets getting more plain and progressively emptying… So we usually turn around at 11 evening and say “Goodnight Glasgow!”

Alright! I’m on the go once again… after 4 days long of settling down and get my schedule fixed for the whole brand new schoolyear! Sorry peepz for getting you all wait up for updates. “Boh-pien” (no choice)… Too much too new. Apart from adapting to the time, I had to adapt to the
temperature, the
daylight (for the FIRST time,
seriously!) and the most massive impact… the
expenses!
First of all, the experience coming here was psycho-driven to start of with. As dear mom suggested i put my hand-carry stuffs in an inflattable bag, a larger one compared to my backpack, i was stopped at the Singapore airport despite even having the weight less than the limit given. As i explained to the Mr so-called-nice-dude that my bag is an inflattable one, he said that because the flight’s a full=house one, and everyone has too many hand-carry luggages, it would be a great idea that i tag my bag just in case by the time i get into the plane and i’ve no more space to put my bag. And i was not the only one. There were 18 others. By the time we reached Glasgow, the worst that we’d thought happened… we could not find the tagged luggages. All forty f***ing items! WTF WTF WTF! In the end all 18 of us filed some paperwork and the Ms. Scottish there claimed that our baggage were delayed and that we have to go back first and that they will tell us the whereabouts of the missings by 6pm. Blergh… the time was 12 noon. Anyway, thank goodness by 6pm, not only did our village officer told us that the airport employees had found our luggage but also told us some of them were on the way already. The agonizing 6 hours were over after i saw the missing one.
Okay! Scotland… The locals really did… i mean do… (sigh… it’s all in their tourist guide!) mention that their bars are good and Scotland’s never Scotland without her bars! It’s a “must” kinda hangout place. Even the lecturers over here said so.
Like I’ve always told my peepz, Scotland’s all grey and wet. And i was soooo right! The good news is, according to one of the locals here, this summer week was apparently the “sunniest” one. At other times, it was all drizzling and rainy. Temperature can go down till 8 degrees. Wanna cry also cannot, later tears also can beku. Big SIGH… Fingers are cracking, face is peeling. To my juniors who are reading this, YES, buy whole loads of moisturizer, especially if you have sensitive skin!
Oh well, Glasgow’s one heck of a place. Fantastic for her buildings designs. All with the 16th century touch. Great place to appreciate these sorts. The people are straightforward, friendly and they’re just great.
Ay, in front of our students residence is the old cathedral.
One of the oldest building, the Royal Infirmary from the Victorian Era.
No purpose for this pose, just wanna show the sky’s plain grey and i can even be a poser at almost anywhere
Buchanan Street, they call it the outdoor shopping mall here. Shoppers’ Heaven, konon…
What luck?! First week and we’ve seen the Scots man in kilt with the bagpipe. W-O-W!
Another snap just for the poser’s collection. Apparently Z4’s here are dirt cheap! Have already seen uncountable of them, Smart Roadsters, MX5s and RX8s…
Being a Malaysian, simply watch a movie and you can get a side “entertainment” by just reading the subtitles. No, not the VCDs or DVDs you get at the streets or nowdays.. the restaurants. Really, just hop into a cinema and watch a movie and you’ll get what I mean…
I remember sometime ago, perhaps a coupla’years ago, I watched LOTR with Weipz. We do not usually read the subtitles, but heck. Having to know our proud Malaysia language, it’s simply amusing that it’s not quite possible to take notice of those subtitles. There was a line spoken by either Pippins or Merry… “The nearer we are to danger, the further we are from harm” or something like that. Oh well. So guess what? The subtitle was nicely put in, “Lebih dekat kita dengan bahaya, lebih jauh kita dari bahaya.” Conveniently translated, but why even bother? doink, doink, doink…
Then last month I watched Be Cool, starring J. Travolta and Uma Thurman. I remembered the moment the title came out and rightaway my brother and I were strucked with absurdity, and guess what was the translation? “RELAKS“. Now, how C-O-O-L was that? At least the translators did a good job there by not translating to something like, “Jadi Gaya” or “Bergaya” or worse, “Jadi Dingin”!!! hoho! couldn’t stop laughing… just as me. I guess the distributors made these translators watch the movie first this time. I remembered someone telling me that Ocean’s Twelve was “Kisah Dua Belas Lautan“! Bite me… I think anyone could have died twice. First, baffled by the translation of the title. Secondly, having to laugh and choke to death when the bag that fitted the little Chinese acrobat, Yen went missing. And there’s someone asked right at that moment, “How did he hold his pee?”
The most recent movie i had was Star Wars… which was “Perang Galaksi”. O well, I guess that was quite okay. But when they translated the robots’ names… walau, it was super! R2 was “Artoo”, R4 was “Arfour” and 3-PO was “Threepio” in the subtitles. Oh boy… I figured the translator was either a comedian cum translator or that fella ain’t so much of a “Perang Galaksi” fan.
I sometimes wonder whether these blind translations happen in other countries. Man, it must be hillarious…
