-The adventures of the first four days-

… and *phewwww* I’m back!

And (taking a deep breath) yes, I’ve been to a loop around Scotland with the 3 of my flatmates from the town where we stay in Glasgow to Perth, on to Inverness City, then up to Curain, all the way straight ahead to Kyle of Lockalsh went on to Skye and over the sea to isles of Lewis, followed down to Harris, coming down to Fort William and back to the cosmopolitan Glasgow again! All in backpacker style… totally started from scratch on the information, then with all the further investigation… voila! Perfect holiday for a student like me.

The days around the mainland (those mentioned as above apart from Skye, Lewis and Harris were all nice, warm and clear. The visits to the castles of Scotland were splendid as all 3 castles that we visited had their very own individual historical background and the interior as well as the grounds outside the castles were awesome sights. The views from above on the highlands were almost all the time breathtaking… *swoooosh* And the money-can’t-buy-experience from the isles was… undescribable… Thus, for the sake of my people who ever considered coming to Scotland for holidays, read on… for whatever i am about to say may be as invaluable as your 32 original teeth in your mouth.

Okay… where shall i begin from? Oh well… first of all a Castle visit in Scotland is always a must. I mean, come one?! Where on other part of the world can you count 88 castles/palace in a single country?! So, yea, the first visit was at Scone Palace in Perthshire.

During the 2 miles (app 4km) walk through the narrow trails towards the castle truly reminded me about the Robin Hood times. Haha! I always wanted to have that kinda feeling… just that i was not in that type of outfits used in Robin Hood movies (dang~!). That’s my flatmates and myself after the 4 km walk. No, we did have our bags, but I made them as the tripod. Creative, ay?

Sooo… then of course… the long walk ended us up finally to the entrance sign before the gate and ta-daaa!

Only we realized the 4km only covers the walk from the sign we before to the sign of entrance of the palace gate.

Anyway, so we just walked walked and walked to the palace, which is known to be one of the romantic palaces/castles in Scotland. Really, there’s plenty of the same description out there. I guess it’s just for tourists’ interest sake.

In the palace, no pictures or video allowed. Thus, the lack of further illustration of what beauty the palace holds. Anyhow, for the people who has love for classic art, the amount of oil-paintings, sculptures, china collection and antiques in there were countless. Every room in that palace contains certain amount of something of historical value.

And when i say this place was awesome, that’s because it was the FIRST bloody TIME i was able to come so close in contact to feed a peacock! Yay! I fed a peacock! Wait… no, in fact I fed 4 greedy peacocks! woot!

Moving on, we went to Inverness, put up 2 nights in a backpacker hostel, and went on a search for Nessie the monster. Oh well… I guess apart from the fact that we searched in vain, the guide who brought us through the journey was… ballistically HILLARIOUS! Thoroughly reminded me of essences of Sew, Rainier and Jason altogether combined into one woman, named Allison. All practical jokes. End. of. story.

So, the Scottish Tourist Association were a bunch of nicees to keep a Nessie-lookalike in a pond at the back of the tourist shop. *teehee* More pictures here.

And walla… our wacky guide who i mentioned, who somehow also reminded me of the white water rafting guide i had last time. *pfffth*

Hmm… that was basically our 4 days of journey… although I did not ellaborate that much… So… ta-daaaah! Will be going on about the following 4 days, the most exciting part of the whole holiday trip.

*LoL* hey hun!
yea, i had that sorta tongue slippings at first. But da travelling got me used to them, like totally.

Oh well… i was searching for the monster or at least a baby reptile there, but nah… even our wascko “Discovering Loch Ness monster tour” guide ironically told us not to be nutters into believing there’s one out there.

Erm… so what’s w da large ‘L’? u fancy her? She’s owned. ‘Nuff said.
