yay! Amsterdam pics to show! The trip down to Amsterdam with Zhen Hoong, Koo, Lee Siew and Doreen was a mega-awesome one! Yes yes… It’s an odd number but Lih Xiang was really supposed to follow (we even had his tickets and bookings! ouch!) but his passport had problems unfortunately… therefore we could have made the trip super-mega-awesome if we’d had him there. shykes…
Before disembarking to a total strange, we found out that the destination is famous for her canals, boathouses, canal boat rides, open markets, flower markets, rivermarkets, legal prostitution, legal porn, legal drug, legal-whatever-else-that-the-norm-thinks-they’re-no-good and most of all, the art and history.
Although I may seem to be an artistic person, I am a mere appreciator of art displays and historical events. Oh well, that’s to begin with before anything else…
Just as we arrived, the lovebirds Koo and Lee Siew, as well as Doreen rested at our hostel while my hommie and i went out jalan-jalan. Oh well, he’s obliged to, coz if he didn’t i guess da gang back home will klonk his head and shout “Apala u! U left peikz alone go jalan jalan at Amsterdam streeeet?! What kinda man r u?! what if a pimp take her to pose at one of da windows coz she’s so sexyyyy?!” So… thanks Hoong! We walked so much that we actually walked around the borders of the New Side and Old Side, like the borders along SS2 and Paramount. Along the way and through all the dodgy lanes we had to cross we came across coffeeshops in a MORE dodgy areas and of course, the brothels where they have women posing in lingeries looking out the window and glaring seductively at any passing men. And kids, kids… coffeeshops ere do not just look as they sound… Coffeeshops are shops that sell soft drugs. So if you wish to walk into a coffeeshop to order your daily kopi-susu, I suggest you go to a CAFE instead. Not implying anything or any sorts, but this is just a warning.

and… to have our whole trip seemed more wilder we have a bunch of American loonies staying with us. OMG! screeeeam out loud! They are sooo so sexy without their tops on that even our guys droooooool! ok…that was a lil’ way-over but the truth is they did have fab bod coz they’re in the armies and they were just taking a break like us. The bald guy jumped off our room window into the chilly canal with the other two getting audience at the canal bank to watch. Definitely men with guts and GUTS.
As I’ve said, musuems and the arts are stuffs we must do when we were there. So we went to Anne Frank Huis (The house of Anne Frank) depicting the Holocaust and the experience of a 15 year old girl seeing it happening to her; followed by the Van Gogh’s musuem that had hundreds displays of his masterpieces as well as approx 200 displays from other artists who were affiliated with the man himself. So cool! He painted my favourite flower!!! Ice skating was next, canal walking followed and there were many markets to go too! Btw, we saw an Asian street with many Asian peoples’ stores and i didn’t even mean chinatown. It’s really filled with asian stores like Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Korean, Cantonese (presumably Hong Kong?) and Malaysian restaurants! We’re everywhere, doesn’t it seems?

So you see… even how boring you may think musuems may be, with blur Doreen, her abuser Koo, the joker Peikz, the laugher Lee Siew and the entertainer ZHoong, we seized the days of our stay in Amsterdam. Even getting lost in a strange area in a part of the city was easily made up by just find-something-to-do-before-getting-lost-again-lah, which explains the photo above *pwned!* That’s because my clever ego told me I was about to find one of the great sights in the city, The Planetarium, somewhere out there, when really… we actually missed out the f***in’ bumbung (roof)! When we realized that the planetarium was just in front of us, Koo cursed out so much that we laughed out so loud that a passerby must have thought we were ghosts because soon after she stumbled upon us, she instantly clasped onto her chest and chanted some sutra… Oh well, such is life of a Dutch’s misfortunate encounter with “happy” foreigners like us.

And the last view before you, my avid readers, before heading back to your activities or bed… The Amsterdam City.

My trip did not just end there although the gang went back to England where they’re staying as for me the Glasgow girl ended up at Leeds and went off to Blackpool for a winterfunday and a night at Newcastle before returning to G on the eve of Christmas Eve.
I’ve arrived home! Back to Glasgow that is. It was actually 3 days ago, but the whole trip away to Amsterdam, back to Leeds, Blackpool and the stayover at Newcastle was overexhausting…
Year 2005 is gonna be another historical year soon. A flip to the new year 2006 just by the sound of the bells, gongs, fireworks, alarm clocks and even phone ring tones (be it sms or phone call).
I realized December this year was full of events! On top of that, so many greetings and wishes. By the latter, i meant there are so many people born in the month of December!
It’s like one part of the year in 1984… say… round february to march, mothers suddenly thought, “oh nooo! i forgot 2 make a baby last year n they say this year’s a cool year! shykes! i’d better make one now so that my baby can due by december n still b coooool!”
Anyway, to Rachel Chin, Rhodri, Anita, Ing, Marianne, Boon Aik, Teik Jin, Koh Jun, Yung Aun, Sao Voon, Ven Yee, JackJack, Xi Yen, Siew Teng, Fiona, Li Shien, Chris Ong, Cheekz, Esther, Soon Han, Lavinia, and my darling cousin Vans, the cool babies*… be it serendipitously or just well-planned born, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you wonderful people!
* there may be other cool or cooler babies whose names were not mentioned above that i may accidentally have forgotten. Do remind me and i’ll include it in in a jiffy!
Hello hello…
I know… yes, yes… you peeps miss me right? ho ho!
Oh well, sorry kids! Have been away to Amsterdam with my hommie and friends for a while. Will update soon! And to the hommies back home, wait for my e-mail! hahaha! So much to share with you guys! Woo hoo!
That’s not just normal chemical shit from the periodical table i was pointing out. It was the Chemical Brother concert i just went last week and like the title… The whole event was a megablast! Picture this, and especially to my club-kakis and fellow ravers aka party lover mates back home, it’s like a rave party that went on and on for whole 5 hours totally creamed with tracks only from the few of the best DJs around. Plus… P-L-U-S… we’ve got beers, wines and spirits that needn’t go (partially) hidden like a bunch of noobfags if we were to be raving back in Malaysia. How can this performance not get thumbs-up from party naturallist like myself?
The mixes from Ed and Tom were stuffs you can’t get from even the original CDs themselves. The moment the first hit they played up, the people screamed like a bunch of wolves that never saw moonlight before until the night of 2nd December the Friday. So massively electrifying and the chemical beats shattered upon the crowd totally. The night was good. Just after that, we adjourned to one of the clubs ere in Glasgow. We made a conclusion alright: The Chemical Brothers concert before must have made that night of clubbing scene after seemed like a hag party that had been stonefied or paused miraculously since the 70’s and suddenly spawning back alive that very night… I’m sure you can get the picture. If not, cover yourself tonight with your sheets and dream of it, kids.
The other crazy party mates who went together and danced wildly with me as if there was no tomorrow.
Wooo… laser lights. I love lasers lights. Laser lights are cooooool.
Backdrop.
A random pic. I think this was the opening.
As the atmosphere’s getting hotter.
There. A shattering concert that rocked Glasgow that night. Even before the journey out to SECC we heard a couple of flats that we passed playing Chemical Brother’s tracks and that relaly soared up our mood even more. Woot!
i came to conclude after i reflected on certain things one night that i am an eccentric person. It does not depress me or even prevent me to remain to be the same person as i am presently. At present state, finding the same frequency minded companies is not as convenient as “just a phone call away” as we would to say 6 months ago and before. I think i may even cringe to the thought of trying to hang out the way i would do back home, albeit some will say it is just a change of location. Heck, it’s just not the ground or the air. It’s more like a guinea pig thrown to a field of rabbits. Eventhough they the sound they produce when they crunch the carrots are the same but the colour of the grass of the field may look different in both species’ eyes. I guess I’ll just adjust. And when there’s a need for adjustment, there should be need for space. I would say space, in this context, is time. I could be a whole lot of different person in the coming 7 months time.
I am counting on the time. But what if time is counting on me instead? Which brings me to say…
Christmas is coming!!! I am in Glasgow. Bugger. At one point of time i actually miss home parties invites or even Xmas gala invites which I would usually get back home. I miss the chimuiz and homeboys of Subang. Not to mention, my best friend across the THOOOusandsss of kilometres ocean away. It’s annoying how human mind is so screwed up sometimes. Often, the mind tends to screw the body up when the brain brilliantly decided not to be screwed up at that other times. So ironic.
