Animosity

That is describing my current workplace.

After 2 episodes of empty shelves, my desperate action was to call up the Pharmaceutical company after failed attempts of getting positive feedback from the Store pharmacists. After the call, hence the respond to the Chief.
Me: Boss, apparently the IV Midazolam and Noradrenaline was not sent to our hospital due to some overlook error from the company and the distributor and there was nobody follow up to that matter. I hope there can be a more functional person to actually handle such situation. I cannot possibly have ICU sedate everyone with Propofol as it is expensive, nevertheless best choice from what we have currently.
Chief: Dear Teoh, i am aware of the situation and had taken actionupon this. Pls f/up on the supply chain.

Assuming that was true…

And then… *jeng jeng jeng* third episode… MORE life-saving emergency drug(s) out of sight! This is getting out of hands. Best drama ever…

9/2/09 Me: Boss, fentanyl unavailable since last 2wk++, renal failure patients in icu/ccu r at risk of poor weaning if we can’t get the urgent fentanyl stock by Wed (11/2/09). I don’t think we may get them w/in 2 days since today pharmaniaga on thaipusm hol. I told the Specialists in OT to hold on w alfentanyl while awaiting for magic to happen…

Well, nothing happen. No abra-cadabra. Sigh… So…
*STORE*
10/2/09 Me: Hello? May i speak to Mr B?
Mr M: Sorry, he’s not around.
Me: Oh? Is that so? In that case, who handles the purchase of IV Fentanyl? It’s been 2 weeks that I was out of that… I am in desperation..
Mr M: Er… Mr B is the only person in charge of it. So I really don’t know what about IV Fentanyl.
Me: *curses in my head* s.i.l.e.n.c.e. O…kay… So you’re telling me if suddenly B has an accident and accidentally found dead, are you telling me I will not get to see anymore Fentanyl for the next one week or a month… or maybe monthsss later?
Mr M: Then I’ll search for him at the mortuary.
Me: Great idea! While you’re at it, please ask him what’s the status of these drugs. If he doesn’t answer, try poking him…

After that cheeky call and following a call to the company…
Me: Hello, R. I am the pharmacist looking after ICU and Op Theatre, and i would like to enquire the status of Fentanyl inj. Is there no stock from the company?
Ms R: Not at all, we’ve got them alright.
Me: REEEEALLY? Well, you know what? My hospital which is Hospital Melaka, does not have a single drop of it… Haven’t my store pharmacist made the order already?
Ms R: Oh yes, you made on the 4th and we received the order statement on the 6th.
Me: You know… you are telling me an absolutely useless information coz…. today’s the 11th already. Is there no sense of urgency now that I, being the end-user calling you up?
Ms R: Sorry hun, but Mr B from your side hadn’t say that. I’ll send right away tomorrow.
Me: Thank you… *vomit blood with some taugeh*

Then, of course, why not tell the Chief to make matter better… or worse.
11/2/09
Me: Boss, I js called Pharmaniaga and they promised delivery of Fentanyl by Wednesday. It seemed according to them, Mr B had only JUST placed the order and he did not say they were urgent. Honestly, this is tiring if I have to keep doing this. Anyway, I got Sym to greet these fentanyls tomorrow.
Chief: Ok teoh, I hv asked someone to pursue this urgently.

Dumbtard! Didn’t i just told him I went and pursue that item already?!?!
What pathetic idiots. Thymic idiots doing healthcare service. Utter idiots who do not care anymore and create such a hostile workplace… F***
