Have MERCY on those hungry ones

Every 3.6 seconds, someone around the world dies from hunger.

Sixty years after the United Nations ratified the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and formally defined the right to adequate food and freedom from hunger, almost a billion people still go hungry every day as a result of famine, war, disaster or extreme poverty.

Skyrocketing prices for essential staples, such as rice and corn, compound the global food crisis and threaten to push millions of people who recently climbed out of poverty back among the ranks of the hungry.

Mark Human Rights Day with the Action Center to End World Hunger by learning more about the right to food and how you can combat world hunger. By bringing millions together, we can end hunger in our time.
